May 17, 2008 - Montrose Chocolate & Wine Festival

The historic town of Montrose is host to the biggest wine & chocolate festival in the county. A number of NEPA wineries & vineyards will be there, giving visitors a rare opportunity to taste and purchase Pennsylvania wines and gourmet chocolates at their best. (2nd Annual) - Come & interact with your favorite local artists and new talents to be discovered. This year we are doing a benefit for St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital. Scranton Cultural Center at the Masonic Temple, Scranton, PA

A wine & food tasting event presented by the Leadership Lackawanna project to benefit the Children's Advocacy
Center of NEPA.
The event will feature local wine from Cartegna Family Wines
as well as special dishes from some of our area’s best restaurants including Alfredo’s Cafe, Milestone Ranch, Molly Brannigans, State Street Grill, Stirna’s, Vida Tapas Grill,
Angelo Bistocchi’s, Bella Faccia’s Chocolates as well as
coffee from Starbucks.
The highlight of the evening will be a Celebrity Auction featuring unique items for sale auctioned off by some of
our area’s most dynamic personalities. There will also be
raffles and prizes!

The two day outdoor festival, held from 12 to 6pm on the grounds of Split Rock Resort located in beautiful Lake Harmony, will feature continuous musical entertainment on three separate stages, up to 30 of Pennsylvania's finest wineries and a wide selection of food vendors to tempt your tastebuds. The annual Blueberry Festival is two days of summer fun for all ages! Held on the first Friday and Saturday in August since 1980, the Festival brings thousands of people to scenic Montrose PA to enjoy blueberry everything, from ice cream to pies. Proceeds benefit the Susquehanna County Historical Society & Free Library Association.

August 2, 2008 - Montrose Blueberry Ball (new this year)
Friends of the Library and Historical Society are planning an exciting new event in conjunction with the Blueberry Festival: the first Blueberry Ball, which will be held starting at 6pm on Saturday, August 2nd (after the second day of the Festival concludes), at The Summit in New Milford. Tickets will be $75 a person (remember, it's a fundraiser!) and include appetizers, a sit-down dinner, and 4 hours of a live orchestra for dancing. There will be a cash bar. Dress is "blue gowns for the women, black tie optional but blue tie preferred for men." Tickets will be limited to 150 people (75 couples). Mark the date and check back for more details!
